I had good fortune to have a decent camera, which I purchased at the PX of the Base Camp of the 4^th Infantry Division when I was there during the Vietnam War in 1967 and 1968. I was able to take photos of the first successful Guru Puja to Srila Prabhupada formed to him personally.  Read the Story in Section Blow "First Guru Puja in Person to Srila Prabhupada". 

It was during his stay at the Juhu Beach Property in Bombay on November 21st to 22nd, or in February  16th to 25th.  All I do remember for sure, is that before I went to India, I passed through New Vrindavan and there was snow on the ground.  I spent 3 days there, drove to New York, and spent about a week there, and it had a little snow on the sidewalks. before I flew on one of those around the world flights, that from New York, passed through Frankfurt Germany. The other fact I remember, is that Tamal Krishna Goswami, told me that in Hong Kong they had tried to do Guru-puja in person but they messed it up and Srila Prabhupada stooped it.  Hence, Srila Prabhupada's time line for 1974 fits perfectly for the the dates of  February 16th to the 25th is when I took these photos.  That morning, the ISKCON official photographers Visakha and her husband Yadubara,  had gon into Bombay City early in the morning, and Srila Prabhupada had agreed to have the Guru-puja performed to  him persosnally, and so he new I had a cammar, the only devote there at that time in Juhu Beach who did, and he told me 

"Upendranath!  Hurry and get you chamar, we are going to do Guru-puja to  Srila Prabhupada, they tried in Hong Kong, and they did not do it right, and he stopped it.  So hurry, before it starts and take photos, for  this is historic" 

And I did, and it was Yasomatinanda Dasa who did the offerings.  There are a hand full of Prabhupada disciples that I can try and communicate with them, for they are Temple Presidents, Sannaysi and GBC and Gurus who are still alive and I will see if I can get them to recount that day, and I will post them here.  All I can tell you, is that I saw Prabhupada, did not look at Yaso (as we called him), Prabhupada was always looking to his left, to his right, and up, and he was making some unusual gestures with his hands and fingers as you can see in the photos, and then one photo where he looks at me, with a kind of of serious look, in which I felt that he was telling me to go away; and that was the last photo I took.
